Participants will be guided through the characteristics of color and its interactions. You will become comfortable with color terms and concepts. You will establish a solid foundation in color mixing techniques and the visual effects of color combinations. Participants will create a color wheel to use during at home art practices! Participants will also explore how Dutch artist, Piet Mondrian, used color to establish bold compositions- which will be interpreted into the artist participant creating a Red, Blue, and Yellow composition reminiscent of Mondrian’s. Participants will also explore the color interpretations of American artist, Mark Rothko, and implement Rothko’s color fielding techniques within their own painting creations!
