Sue Tye- Blue LuPine Fibers

There isn’t a single aspect of weaving Sue Tye takes for granted. With a lifelong interest in textiles and fibers, she began to create her own yarns, hand-dyeing batches of wool and silk to blend to incorporate into her work. “Color and textures that I see in nature all around me in beautiful north Idaho Inspire my pieces.” says Tye, who uses Saori looms in her home studio surrounded by pine trees and deer. Her weaving includes wall hung pieces and functional work, including scarves and pillows, which she shares with students in such venues as Emerge Coeur d’ Alene and as administrator and moderator for Weaving the Saori Way on Revelry, a world-wide fine arts community. She is represented by The Art Spirit Gallery, Coeur d’ Alene and is a frequent contributor to Ply magazine.
