One day workshop. April 20th, 11am - 2pm. Ages 10+

Embark on a cozy crafting adventure in our Beginner's Crochet Class! Hosted by Ash Gordon, this class is for individuals with little to no crochet experience or those wanting a refresher on the basics. In this 3 hour workshop, Ash will cover how to hold your crochet hook, tie a slip knot, chain stitch, and single crochet stitch. These foundational skills will be tied together to create a simple beanie.

Since attendees may already have materials or may have specific preferences on what supplies they'd like to bring, we're asking students to purchase their own materials for this workshop. These materials should cost around $10 or less and second-hand materials are always welcome!

Supply List:

  • 5mm crochet hook
  • One skein of medium weight yarn

Supplies can be purchased online or from any local craft store. Any material of yarn will work, slightly thicker yarn is recommended. Please send an email to if you have any questions about these materials.

Spokane based mixed media artist Ash Gordon received her Bachelors in Studio Art from Eastern Washington University. She specializes in ceramics and works in a variety of mediums including crochet, painting, sculpture, and printmaking. Ash first learned to crochet during a 5th grade Mother's Day project. She has been making her own garments, household accessories, and more ever since.

Due to a high demand for classes, we are not able to issue refunds unless a class is canceled.
