Open Cup Studio | Students Only | 4pm - 7pm | March 21st

Available to past or current students only - you must have taken at least 1 class at Emerge's pottery studio in the last 2 years to be eligible to sign up for this studio time.

Held Friday, March 21st from 4pm to 7pm.

This open cup studio time is for students (past or present) interested in utilizing our studio space to make cups for the upcoming Cup Frenzy, held in conjunction with Emerge's Ceramic Throwdown on April 11th. 

Rules for the Cup Studio

• By signing up for this studio time, you're committing to donating at least 2 cups to the cup frenzy.
  • Please keep in mind that this involves committing to coming into the studio at least 3 times (throwing, trimming, and glazing)
• The only way to ensure you have access to a wheel is to reserve one on each day's event page.
• You may donate more than 2 cups, there is a prize offered for the potter that donates the most cups to the Frenzy. After creating 2 cups for the frenzy you may also utilize this studio time to make items for yourself, within reason. 
• Our LAST day we will be firing cup donations is Monday, March 31st. Please ensure they are on the glazed bisque shelf ready to fire no later than Saturday the 29th. 
• We will have a box in the studio labelled "Cup Frenzy Donations" during February and March. All finished cups (after coming out of the glaze firing) should go in that box so we know they're being donated
  • Please DO NOT just leave your cup on the 'finished' rack. If you do that, we have no way of knowing if it's meant to be donated or not. 
• During open cup studio, all students can use our recycled clay for free. All new clay will need to be purchased. 

In order to keep our regular Wednesday and Saturday open studio times free for current students, if you are a past student please try to complete your trimming and glazing during the Cup Studio times (Friday evenings). If you cannot make it in on a Friday and would like to come by during our Wednesday or Saturday day time studio sessions please email programming@emergecda.com.
