One day workshop. December 21st. 11am - 3pm. Ages 13+
Learn to create a small basket from local Ponderosa pine needles and take home your creation!
During the 4-hour class, led by local artist Barbara Snarr, students will be able to finish a small 4-5”diameter basket.
The basket will start with a premade center, and the students will be able to choose from a large variety of options. If time allows, the finished baskets will be lightly coated with natural bees wax to provide additional stability and structure.
All material will be provided, including prepared pine needles, multiple colors of thread, sewing needle, gauge, items for embellishments, and a hand-crafted center. Barbara will provide detailed hands-on guidance, including basic coiling techniques, different stitches, changing thread, and how to incorporate beads and embellishments.
All levels are welcome to enroll in the class. Modifications will be made for previous students to advance their skills.
Scholarships are available for any students 18 and under, courtesy of CDA Arts Commission and United Way of North Idaho. APPLY HERE.
Due to a high demand for classes, we are not able to issue refunds unless a class is canceled.
