INK! 2021

September 11th from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM
On Sept.11th, 2021 Emerge hosted the Fifth annual INK! Print Rally next to our downtown Coeur d’Alene gallery. From 1:00 to 7:00 pm, community members enjoyed interactive printmaking booths with activities for all ages, local artisans and makers, live music, food trucks, and a beer garden. In the center of the event, large-scale prints were created all evening using 5’ x 4’ carved wood panels, an asphalt roller, and fabric.
This year, we explored the theme of “Things that go bump in the Night; Monsters, creatures and Urban Legends.”
Large-scale block printing is the process of steamrolling sheets of carved wood: bearing stress upon fabric, ink, and wood to create a piece of art that speaks of the artist, the context, and the process.
