2025 Throwdown and Cup Frenzy

Our 5th Annual Throwdown: A Ceramic Competition and Cup Frenzy is scheduled to take place Friday April 11th, 2025, starting at 5pm. This event is a wonderful way to get more involved with the local pottery scene and will be jam packed full of exciting activities.

The highlight of the night will be the Throwdown Challenge. This aspect of the event is a friendly throwing competition with challenges like throwing the widest plate, throwing the tallest cylinder, and throwing blindfolded (Think the BBC/HBO series "The Great Pottery Throwdown").

An important aspect of this event is fundraising for our pottery studio. We use the funds collected to purchase new supplies and materials each year. This is done through our Cup Frenzy: a HUGE cup sale. Participating potters donate 5 - 10 cups for the sale. All of the cups will be available for $15 per cup (with a drink included).

*VIP early access tickets will go on sales soon, just $45 get in the door early to snag your cups!*

Substance IV will also open the day of the event, coinciding with Coeur d'Alene's Art Walk. This show features regional ceramic artists and will remain up through May 3rd.
