I didn't get a copy of my submission form sent back to me, how do I know you received my submission?
If you didn't receive an automated copy of your submission, please check your spam folder. If it's not there, please email submissions@emergecda.com to confirm we received your submission.
Do you accept submissions by email?
No, we only accept submissions through the application form. If you are struggling with the form, please reach out! Having all submissions go through the form ensures no stray submissions are lost and ensures that we have received all necessary information from you.
Does Emerge charge a commission on gallery sales during the event?
Yes, Emerge charges a 35% commission on all gallery sales. This information and more will be sent to you in an artist contract upon acceptance to the exhibit.
I have an idea for a big community project or large-scale installation, how can I have this be a part of the event?

This is my first time submitting work to a show, what should I price my artwork at?
Great question! The answer will be different for everyone, but we have some resources that can help you figure out your pricing model. These two articles talk in depth about pricing your work:
Do all paintings need to be framed?
Nope! If you have a painting on a canvas, it does not need to be framed. All artwork done on paper must be framed. All artwork must arrive ready to hang. If it does not have a frame, there must be other hanging hardware installed (hooks, wires, etc.). No command strips please! If you are unsure of the best way to get your artwork ready to hang, please reach out and we can help.
I want to submit but I don't want to sell my art, is that allowed?
Yes! Simply put "NFS" on the section of the application that asks for a price.
How do I rename my image file to fit your submission guidelines?
This process will be different depending on the device you're using to submit. Listed below are ways to change file names depending on the device you have. Please keep in mind this guideline is not referring to the title of your work, just the name of the actual image file that gets uploaded. We highly encourage you to submit using a computer, this process is more difficult when using your phone.

The work I submitted to the show just sold or is no longer available, can I replace it with something else?
Emerge's Block Party is a juried exhibition and the expectation is that any work shown is the same as the work that was submitted and accepted. We do not accept any substitutions if a work becomes unavailable.
