Two day workshop. February 22nd and March 1st, 2pm - 4pm. Ages 12+
Create your own leather accessories in this two day workshop hosted by Alyssa Baker, owner of Nomadic Knots.
This class will cover the basic skills of leatherwork including how to stamp, dye, and assemble various accessories. Participants will leave the class with three small hand-crafted accessories created over the two day workshop.
Day 1: Introduction to working with leather. Participants will get started on their projects by stamping and dying their leather.
Day 2: Assembly demonstration. Participants will learn how to attach hardware and sew their projects.
Alyssa Baker attended Academy of Art University in SF, earning a bachelors in Fine Art Costume Design. After working as head seamstress and a bridal consultant for several years she transitioned to working for Tandy Leather back in 2016. This sparked her passion for leatherwork and she has since mastered the craftsmanship required to create high quality leather goods. In 2021 Alyssa opened Nomadic Knots and now sells hand-crafted leather accessories such as bottle holders, sunglass cases, functional suspenders/harnesses, keychains, earrings, and much more.
