4 week class. Tuesdays 6pm to 8pm, June 16th - July 7th
Ages 13+
In this four week class led by drawing instructor Mckenzie Dulmes, students will learn techniques for drawing realistically from a still life.
Week 1 — Breaking Down Complex Forms
Learn how to simplify complicated subjects into basic shapes and forms. This class teaches students how to build strong drawings from structure first, making difficult subjects easier to understand and draw confidently.
Week 2 — Line Weight, Shading & Texture
Explore how line weight, lighting, and texture bring drawings to life. Students will learn techniques for creating depth, realism, and visual interest through shading and surface detail by trying their hand at replicating real life textures.
Week 3 — Perspective
Understand the fundamentals of perspective and how to create believable depth and space in artwork. This class covers techniques for drawing objects in 3D space.
Week 4 — Composition & Guiding the Viewer’s Eye
Learn how to create visually engaging artwork by controlling focus, balance, and flow within a piece. Students will explore composition techniques that help direct the viewer’s attention and strengthen storytelling through art.
All materials will be provided, if you have your own drawing supplies or sketchbook you prefer to use you are welcome to bring them.
