Thursday Ceramic Sculpture Class | Kelli | September 17th - October 22nd

6 week course, Thursdays from 6pm - 8pm. September 17th - October 22nd

In this course, led by pottery instructor Kelli Vaupel, the fundamentals of hand-building both functional and sculptural ceramic work will be covered. Students will be taught the variety of ways forms can be created with clay (coil building, slab building, how to reinforce larger structures to avoid collapse, etc.) Students are encouraged to get creative with their designs and come to class with an idea of items they'd like to try to make (cups, plates, vases, sculptural items, etc.). 

This class is for all skill levels, students new to the studio will receive extra instruction and those with prior pottery experience will receive instruction catered to their preferences. Intermediate and advanced students are encouraged to come to class with a project idea in mind that challenges their skills.

Included in this course: 12.5lbs of clay, tools, studio glazes, and the firing of all finished work. 

We offer 1-2 monitored open studio times each week. Open studio times are currently Wednesdays and Saturdays from 1pm-4pm. All work made in this class must be finished within two weeks of the last day of class. Out of respect for our limited storage space, finished work must be picked up within 30 days of firing. All abandoned work not picked up within this timeframe may be recycled or thrown away.
